STOMP
STOMP is a joint project of a bunch of Canberra dance enthusiasts and the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin.
INAUGURAL STOMP
The disastrous Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 was the trigger for our decision to run the first stomp as a couple of us pondered what we could do in the face of such an enormous human tragedy.
We raised $4000 in our first effort and helped to get a Sri Lankan fishing village back to work with new fishing boats
EVOLUTION OF STOMP
Following the initial event, we ran STOMP every 3 months and raising between two and three thousand each night. Since 2012 STOMP has become an annual event with the last STOMP raising in excess of ten thousand dollars. The money is dedicated to needy charities identified by the Rotary Club as well as local based charities around the ACT area.
