Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin News Notes 1st June 2026
Notes on the Run from the President
Dear Members,
Changeover Dinner is 10th June.
As we head toward the end of our Rotary year, it’s exciting to share that plans are all set for our Changeover Dinner! Just a friendly reminder that we’ll be gathering on Wednesday, June 10th—a little different from our usual day, but it should be a wonderful evening.
RAWCS 60th Anniversary.
I had the pleasure of attending the RAWCS 60th anniversary celebrations recently. To celebrate, they’ve put together a lovely e-book called 60 Stories for 60 Years (https://ebooks.cld.bz/RAWCS). It’s a truly inspiring collection that showcases our impact, and I think you’ll really enjoy it!
Board Update: "GoGs" Support.
In our meeting last week, we were delighted to approve a $500 donation to the "GoGs." They do such thoughtful work knitting and sewing items for patients in Canberra hospitals, and we are so glad to support them.
International Day of Peace
We’ve also started planning for the International Day of Peace in September! We’re looking forward to involving several Pacific Island nations and a guest speaker. It’s so fitting that "Pacific" means "Peace"—a beautiful connection for this project.
Have a safe week,
President Warrick

Rotary In-joke of the Week
Parallel lines have so much in common;
it’s a shame they will never meet.
Thought for the Week
