2024 Club and Presidential Changeover
Oh what a night! On a brisk Canberra winter evening about 75 Rotarians , families and guests mingled at Saffron Restaurant for our annual Changeover. The vibe was convivial and loud, even impressing the District representatives, DGE Bob Greeney and Gary Davis.
Our Astrida performed the MC tasks and did a wonderful job. In between herding cats she took the photos displayed below. Oh what a Kodak Brownie can achieve under pressure.
A big crowd of Deakin residents led by George Wilson joined in the festivities and we are grateful to George Wilson for co-ordinating these loyal supporters.
The speech by Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko was informative and "matter of fact". We learned a lot about the suffering of the Ukraine population. We will continue our support through Rotary projects.
The formal bits were led by Past President Warrick who must be commended for the success of this last year in Rotary, for holding a steady course whilst we encountered choppy waters, and passing the chain of office to our enthusiastic President Russell for '24-'25.
Pres. Russell made an inspiring speech which will set our course for the next 12 months.
We made a tidy sum for our chosen charity on the night Karina House which was also represented at the dinner.
Overall a great night!
