From the President
Hello Club Members
MEETING AT THE ROYAL CANBERRA GOLF CLUB THIS WEEK
Sorry for the confusion. We are meeting at the Golf Club this week and the Mercure the following week.
Instead of a Zoom Meeting we will meet this week to discuss:
- Any Concerns or issues with a possible Club Merger
- Presentation of the 2023/24 Annual Report
- Discussion of the District Campaign Day on Domestic Violence to be held at the Nara Peace Park on Friday the 29th November at 9.00am. A Club Delegate is to be nominated.
- Lift the Lid on Mental Illness Hat Day. We ask everyone to wear a hat and make a $10.00 donation to Australian Rotary Health.
SCHOOL PEACE PARK TOURS
Our Club has had 150 students come through the Park and the payments of $2.00 per child will go toward the Paul Harris Award of $US1,000. Thanks to Bill, Michael, Warrick, and now Astrida for their work. [Editor: and thanks also to Russell for his contribution.]
MURRUMBIDGEE ROTARY CLUB CHERRY FUND RAISER
The Cherries need to be ordered before the 5th December. A 2kg box costs $38.00 and a 5kg box costs $68.00. Collection is on the Saturday the 7th December between 2.00 and 4.00pm at a location in both South and North Canberra. The location is disclosed when you get your receipt. Order via the Murrumbidgee Club website. When you order you have to click on the box of Cherries you want.
THE CANDLE FESTIVAL TAIYAKI TENT
Bill is getting this event organised and will be calling for helpers in the near future. Bill is calling for anyone with a Pie Warmer to help build up a large reserve of Pancakes for sale to avoid queues building up.
RESULTS OF THE MERGER SURVEY
I have received 10 responses to the Survey on the Merger, so we still have another 9 to be received. I will ask again for anyone who has not filled out the Questionnaire to do this at the next Meeting.
Yours in Rotary
Russell Dew
