The Rotary Foundation was established in 1917 as a means for Rotarians to do good in the world. More than $US395 million was raised in 2018-19, with funds used to promote peace and economic growth, deliver life-saving medication, provide sorely needed educational resources and supply clean water. The eradication of polio is a key objective of the Foundation.
Members of the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin contribute to The Rotary Foundation through fund-raising efforts and personal donations. A particular focus is on members each donating $A100 every Rotary year to be used by the Foundation to undertake its life-changing work throughout the world.
